Emergency Electrician London — NICEIC Same-Day Call-Out

No-power, sparking sockets, tripping RCDs, burning smells. £90 fixed call-out, NICEIC engineers, response within 90 minutes across central and inner London zones.

Reviewed by James Whitfield, Director & Qualifying Supervisor — last updated

We respond to electrical emergencies across every London postcode — from Westminster offices losing power mid-trade to HMO landlords with a burning-smell call from a worried tenant. Our engineers are NICEIC certified, JIB Gold Card carded, and dispatched directly from our Barking HQ without call-centre delay.

£90 fixed call-out covers diagnosis and the first 60 minutes of fault finding. If we can make the fault safe and repair in the visit, we usually do. If parts are required, we'll quote up-front before continuing.

Our 90-Minute Response Promise

A hard commitment, not a marketing line.

From our Barking HQ, we commit to a 90-minute response across Zones 1–3 during working hours (Mon–Fri 08:00–17:30). 60-minute response in our HQ-adjacent boroughs: Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, and Hackney. Out-of-hours response (22:00–06:00 or weekends) averages 90–120 minutes depending on traffic and dispatch volume.

If we miss our response window during working hours due to anything within our control (no traffic-extreme exceptions), we waive the first 30 minutes of the £90 call-out fee. Auto-applied to your invoice — you don't need to claim.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you actually get here?

Central and inner London (zones 1–3) we average 60–90 minutes. Zones 4–6 typically 2 hours. We confirm the live ETA when you call — no guessing.

Is the £90 a real flat fee?

Yes. £90 covers the call-out + the first 60 minutes of diagnosis and fault finding. If parts are needed or the work runs longer, you'll see a quote before we continue — never an ambush invoice.

Are you NICEIC?

Yes — NICEIC Approved Contractor (Reg 619783000). Same scheme that certifies our EICRs and consumer-unit upgrades.

Do you charge more out of hours?

We hold the £90 fixed call-out 06:00–22:00 every day including weekends. For 22:00–06:00 night call-outs the rate is £140 (still includes the first hour). No weekend premium.

What if the fault needs a fuse board?

Where the consumer unit is the root cause we'll make the property safe, isolate the fault, and quote the upgrade — typically £750 all-in for a 6–12 way Type A RCBO board. We can often install the next day.

Will I get an NICEIC certificate?

For repairs that require electrical certification (new circuit, board change, EICR-driven remedial) we issue an NICEIC Minor Works or full installation certificate. For pure fault-finding visits, we issue a written summary and quote.
