Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

When you use our website, call us or book a service, we may collect:

• Your name, phone number and email address
• Your property address and postcode (for dispatch and certification)
• Details of the work requested and any access notes you provide
• Job records, EICR certificates, photographs of installations and remedial work
• Payment confirmation references (we do not store card details — payments are processed by a regulated PSP)
• Server logs (IP, user agent, request path) retained for 30 days for security and abuse prevention

2. Lawful basis

We rely on the following lawful bases under Article 6 UK GDPR:

• Contractual necessity — to provide the services you have booked, issue certificates and collect payment.
• Legitimate interest — to respond to enquiries, dispatch engineers, keep job records and prevent fraud or abuse of our website.
• Legal obligation — to retain test certificates and installation records as required by BS 7671 and the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020.
• Consent — for newsletter subscriptions and any optional marketing communication. You may withdraw consent at any time.

3. How we use your data

We use the personal data we collect to schedule and deliver electrical work, issue NICEIC-signed certificates, contact you about appointments, send quotations, handle complaints, and — only where you have opted in — send a quarterly compliance newsletter. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Third-party processors

We share the minimum data necessary with the following processors, each bound by a data-processing agreement:

• Cloudflare Pages and Workers — site hosting and form submission routing
• MailChannels — outbound transactional email (enquiry and newsletter confirmations)
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymised website traffic measurement, loaded only if you accept analytics
• NICEIC — certificate registration, where required for certification

We do not transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA except to the limited extent that the providers above use US infrastructure under Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK addendum.

5. Retention

Enquiry data that does not lead to a booking is deleted after 12 months. Job records, EICR certificates and other test reports are retained for five years to comply with BS 7671 and the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020, which require landlords to be able to produce the most recent certificate plus the immediately preceding one. Accounting records are retained for six years under HMRC rules.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you (a Subject Access Request)
• Have inaccurate data rectified
• Request erasure where there is no overriding legal obligation
• Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Data portability for data you supplied to us
• Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email info@electrician247.london with "Data request" in the subject. We respond within one calendar month.

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, contact us first so we can put it right. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or call 0303 123 1113.

8. Cookies

Our cookie usage is described separately on the Cookies page. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you accept them.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be announced on the homepage and, where appropriate, by email to active customers.
