Electrician London (NICEIC Reg 619783000) tests commercial kitchens across every London borough — from single-site restaurants and gastropubs to dark-kitchen operators and hotel banqueting kitchens. Grease, heat, three-phase induction loads and constant wash-down mean a kitchen EICR is not the same job as an office one, and most landlords' generic inspectors miss the points an EAWR-aware engineer wouldn't.
We test overnight after service so you don't lose a cover, code clearly under BS 7671 + A4:2026, and issue the same-day digital certificate your insurer, environmental health officer and head-lease landlord need to see.
Why Electrician London
Three-phase induction & combi loads
TP&N induction hobs, combi ovens, salamander grills and pass-through dishwashers — we calibrate, load-test and certify the actual cooking-line draw, not a desk estimate.
Fryer & gas interlock checks
Deep-fryer isolators, gas-solenoid interlocks and emergency knock-off buttons inspected against BS 6173 / BS 7671 — coded clearly on the report so EHO visits don't catch you out.
Extractor & fire-alarm cause-and-effect
Canopy extraction, make-up air and ansul/wet-chemical suppression interaction with the fire alarm — fully proved and noted, not just inspected visually.
Overnight testing, no weekend premium
We start when the kitchen closes and hand back before prep. Service uninterrupted, no weekend uplift, no surprise charges on the invoice.

How a restaurant EICR runs
- 1
Pre-visit call
We confirm board count, three-phase loads, closing time and access. Quote is fixed before the engineer leaves the depot.
- 2
Overnight inspection
Engineer arrives at close, isolates board-by-board, runs full dead and live testing. Front-of-house left live where possible.
- 3
Coding & remedials quote
Anything C1 / C2 isolated and made safe on the spot. Written remedial quote returned with the certificate.
- 4
Hand back before prep
Site re-energised, lights and refrigeration confirmed running, certificate emailed before the kitchen opens for the next service.
Frequently asked questions
Can you do our EICR overnight after we close?
Yes — overnight is our default for restaurants. Most central London sites we attend between 23:00 and 06:00, hand back before prep, and there is no weekend or overnight premium for repeat commercial clients.
How often does a restaurant EICR need renewing?
Most commercial kitchens are tested every 5 years, but landlord head-leases and many insurers (especially under the major hospitality underwriters) now specify 3 years. We follow whichever interval is sooner.
Do you cover dark kitchens and ghost-kitchen sites?
Yes — we test multi-operator dark kitchens across London including the Bermondsey, Park Royal and Walthamstow hubs. Each operator's tenanted kitchen receives its own certificate keyed to their lease line.
Will you test the gas interlock too?
We verify the electrical side of the gas solenoid interlock and emergency knock-off — the BS 6173 gas commissioning itself is a Gas Safe job, but we coordinate with your gas engineer so both certificates align.
Do you cover hotels and large central-London venues?
Yes — we work routinely in Mayfair, Soho, Shoreditch and the City. Multi-board hotel kitchens, banqueting and room-service pantries all tested in a single mobilisation where access allows.
What happens if you find a C1 dangerous fault overnight?
We isolate it immediately, make safe, photograph and document. A written quote follows with the certificate. Most C1 items we can remediate the same overnight visit so you open on time the next day.
