Electrician London (NICEIC Reg 619783000) tests primary schools, secondaries, sixth forms and multi-academy trusts across London. Schools are high-priority under A4:2026: AFDD on socket circuits is now an expected upgrade in educational premises, DT and science lab dedicated circuits need standalone consideration, and the only realistic testing windows are Easter, half-term and the summer holiday — which means the diary fills fast.
All our engineers attending school sites are enhanced DBS-checked, we work to the LA / academy trust permit-to-work, and for MAT clients we sync a single anniversary date across every school in the trust so the compliance dashboard reads cleanly.
Why Electrician London
Holiday-period scheduling
Easter (2 weeks), May half-term, summer (6 weeks) and October half-term — our school diary is pre-blocked. Book by January to lock the summer slot.
AFDD per A4:2026 in classrooms
A4:2026 strongly recommends AFDD on socket-outlet circuits in education premises. We assess, code and quote upgrades alongside the certificate.
DT, science & IT lab dedicated circuits
Lathe, kiln, fume-cupboard and 3D-printer circuits in DT; gas-detection interaction in science labs; dedicated IT-suite rings — each tested as a separate dedicated circuit, not lumped with general lighting.
DBS-checked engineers
Every engineer attending a school site is enhanced DBS-checked. Certificates and ID provided to the school office in advance — no surprises at the gate.

Frequently asked questions
When can you actually test our school?
Easter holidays (2 weeks), May half-term (1 week), summer (6 weeks), October half-term (1 week) and Christmas (2 weeks). Summer is the most-asked window — we accept summer bookings from January and the diary closes by April.
Is AFDD now mandatory in schools?
A4:2026 strongly recommends AFDD on socket-outlet circuits in educational premises. It is not a hard mandate everywhere yet, but most LAs and academy trusts are treating it as expected for new and altered installations. We code accordingly and quote the upgrade alongside the certificate.
How often does a school EICR need renewing?
Five years is the standard BS 7671 interval for schools. Many academy trusts and LA risk registers now use 3 years for sites with significant lab or kitchen loads — we follow whichever is shorter.
Do you handle MAT-wide compliance across multiple schools?
Yes — we run single-anniversary PPM contracts across multi-academy trusts. One renewal date, group invoicing, a single compliance dashboard for the trust business manager and consistent coding standards across every school.
Are your engineers DBS-checked?
Yes — every engineer attending a school site holds an enhanced DBS check. We share certificates and photo ID with the school office before the visit so reception can sign them in without delay.
Do you cover sixth-form colleges and FE sites?
Yes — sixth-form colleges, FE sites and university-feeder labs. Three-phase distribution, dedicated lab supplies, IT-suite riser systems all routine. We work to the college estates permit-to-work.
